I'm Coming Home Again...

When I first moved to the Atlanta area in '99 (actually, when my parents moved me down here), I never thought I would find another pair of Uptowns ever again. But in all honesty, we lived way out in the Boonies so once I met Jarvis in 2000, I was ridiculously enamored with the fact that he lived down the street from South DeKalb Mall. Every time I drove the 45 minute trip to see him, I'd snatch him up and head to the mall. I hadn't seen the culture that we had back home at all until we started going there. And as my time here in the A has lengthened I've been introduced to so many different neighborhoods and so many different styles-it's incredible.

Anyways, so I revisited South DeKalb yesterday with Keiko and I've gotta tell you, the fall releases are definitely bringing that heat. Sometimes it's cool to just go to the mall, you don't always have to hit the boutiques! One thing that I am crazy grateful for is that they've got a Jimmy Jazz down there. The first time I saw it, when it first opened maybe about 2 years ago, I damn near fell out. Jimmy Jazz is an NY tradition (see pic)! The only one in GA is at that mall!
Jimmy was holding these Lumberjack Creative Recreations (around $95) which I looked at and immediately thought of going to Wish and copping this MOB shirt ($40).
They also had my Beef and Broccoli Tims (throwbacks, but necessary!) on sale!! Huh? They wouldn't even get to the sale rack back home, lucky for me right?

Okay, I'm late with this, but I don't care. The Jordan Six Rings, I love. And I want. Even if by "internet info" they're old as dirt. I need 'em.

One of the corner shops in the mall, Jarman, had that fire too. They had my Top Ten Adidas, that I've been effing pining for (around $75).

Champs had the Croc check Blazers that I've been considering ($120, I believe).

Foot Action had the Nike Glow in the Dark Halloween Pack, solely for women and kids (upwards of $70). Look closely. You get it? Bats on the Black and Orange. Black Cats on the Black and Pink.
Fame had the Jumpmans that came out in '97. Was thinking about copping a pair for Keiko as well as one for myself, for nostalgic reasons. In '97 I was the first sophmore with the black and white pair (out on Dec. 1st), leaving everyone else with the Super Crunchee face. LOL.

Finish Line had the retro Pennys. Remember the commercials with Bobble Head Penny? LOL. Memories. I never had these and always wanted 'em (upwards of $100).

And lastly, I didn't see these at the mall but they are sooo effin' fierce. Created for the spirited female hip-hop dancer or breaker, these shoes are built to last especially after an intense performance. I just think they're fly and futuristic as fuck! Nikey Troops!

Currently Coveting...

Santa Cruz X First Round Hi by Puma. Atmos has 'em now in Harlem...

The new line from Penfield. This cobalt, I dunno, it does something to me... LOL.
I'm loving this Married to the Mob jacket, reminiscent of Members Only recent revival; silky material with the faded graffiti all over print. Fly.

Want this Ten Deep varsity for the boyfriend. Wish they had it in girl sizes... (sigh)

The Newest from Hell Bellz...

I just started copping stuff from this line earlier this year and I absolutely love it. All seasons are dope! Once I started rocking Hellz, everyone, even Beyonce was rocking it too... LOL! Just playing. The line has gotten pretty popular but it's still pretty much on some underground ish. I still want this jacket that I peeped last spring for like, $200. It's back in somebody's private room now, but hopefully they'll bring it out for enough bills.

Anyways, so you know I was walking through Little 5 yesterday, dressed in my "corporate wears" on break and went into Wish. I wanted to peel outta my bland Gap khakis and Express tee when I saw Hellz new line. I almost didn't even look in its direction, I just saw a rack packed to capacity, and thought, "Maybe it could be a new shipment..." And to my delight it was! Here's a look at some of what I saw yesterday.

This Cultural Vandal Hoodie is cute, but I don't know if I'll be copping it. Retailing for around $110.
I will, however be purchasing this fine piece though, The Mix It Up Crew, it just looks so damn comfy. Retailing for around $80.
Even with the annoying fact that there is a scarf craze that has been and is presently going on, I find myself loving scarves anyway. Even if the lame down the street is "cooler now" because he has one. This one Wish had in Purple as well as Black. Retails for about $40.
I like t-shirts for the everyday hustle. The color blocked one on the bottom is way better than the first I think. But because I can't exercise much self control, I'll end up with both, most likely.
Retails for about $40.
To learn more about Hellz check their site or their blog, www.whatthehellz.com (I love that name! LOL.)
BTW, most images in this post come to you by way of Karmaloop.

Fall is Damn Near Here- Are You Ready?

So I was online for most of the morning and I'ma share what I found with you guys...

The newest Alife collection is 'effin bananas... Tees and all.

I'm really hoping that 10 Deep comes out with this New World Order varsity for the chicks...

Opening Ceremony teamed with Nikey at the top of the Olympics and came out with these bull shits. I wasn't sure if I was mad at them because of the metallics or the perforated leather, I mean, I like those details but just not together in a shoe, but peep the kicks that came for the closing ceremonies... Ooh... The swirls...

Nike came out with these Back to School Dunks... Reminiscent of the 1st grade. Freshness.

I heart Reebok Pumps. In MORE colorways...

Number (N)ine (a Japanese brand) came out with these high top trainers in flippin' shearling! I really wish I could get 'em in my size but they're primarily for men. Damn. Imagine these joints for the ladies who can't buy Uggs knowing that one in every three chicks already has a pair..

Flashing Lights On...

Chilly-O

Born out of Atlanta, Chilly-O is a hometown brand that symbolizes the avant garde attitude of tastemakers. Here is a brief self description of what they stand for:

Chilly-O, Inc. was initially born as a legal means for generating wealth and other opportunities by raising the standard. Generating wealth (not riches) can be a difficult task in the heart of low socio-economic communities due to lack of financial awareness, supporting institutions, economic and political force. The challenges faced are difficult, and striving to create a 360 degree wealthy way of thinking was something we wanted to convey not only to our friends and family but to the streets in general as well.

What's more, although Chilly is based out here, it's still hard to find unless you know where to look... Here's a hint: try Urban Fusion in Castleberry Hill.

New Kicks...

Guess what I found at Wish yesterday? New Hellboy X Adidas Stan Smiths. Huh? What the hell? Yeah you want 'em... Just be sure your bills for the week are paid first, they're on the pricey side: upwards of $200.

Broke AND Boujee.

If you're unfamilar with Fadia Kader parties, you should probably begin with the Broke and Boujee fashion series. It's a tradition that was set a few years ago and still draws a live crowd. Brought to you by Plush .357 and the Come Up Kids, this party is damn near guaranteed to be dope. Need some motivation? Download and listen to the mixtape by DJ Dibiase, who'll be spinning at the party. Cover? Please. It's 99 cents before 11, after that it's $4.99 for ladies, $9.99 for guys. It's this Thursday, the 21st at the Five Spot in Little Five. Get out there!
